LaPorte County ARES Traffic Net
The LaPorte County ARES Traffic Net is being organized to introduce local amateur radio operators to the handling of radiograms—the standardized message format used within the National Traffic System (NTS).
Purpose
- Short-Term: Provide practice with radiogram traffic in preparation for the upcoming ARRL Simulated Emergency Test (SET) on 11 October 2025.
- Long-Term: Establish a local traffic net that can serve as a reliable NTS node, ensuring LaPorte County has a consistent pathway for formal message handling both in routine operations and during emergencies.
Net Details
- When: Thursdays at 8:00 PM central time
- Where: K9JSI Repeater
- Directed net, all licensed amateurs are welcome to participate
- Bring radiogram blanks or paper to record net traffic.
