Introduction to La Porte County ARES

The LaPorte County Indiana Amateur Radio Emergency Service (LPINARES) is a volunteer organization of licensed amateur radio operators, affiliated with the American Radio Relay League (ARRL), committed to supporting our local community through reliable amateur radio communications.

Our mission

• Develop and maintain a corp of amateur radio operators skilled at handling formal messages via amateur radio methods.

• Be a source of ground truth for partners such as the National Weather Service.

• Maintain connectivity at the local, regional, and national levels through the ARRL’s National Traffic System (NTS), providing reliable message handling when normal communication systems are unavailable or overloaded.
